MSFW '12

I'm terribly sorry for this belated post about Melbourne Spring Fashion Week 2012 but finally here it is! :)
It was a great night but because of transportation issues I nearly didn't make it on time! Eeep!
A few of the brands that I saw were Alpha60, Bul, Dress Up, Friend of Mine, Gorman and Kuwaii.

Here are some (quite blurry) snaps of the runway

I predict pink will most definitely be in this spring season

This photo is especially blurry, but the lion print is to die for!

These pants are so daring, don't think I could ever pull them off

DIY - Glitter Boots

I've been lusting after the Wittner Cookies Boot in Gold Glitter for the longest time, but I just couldn't justify paying the hefty $169.95 price tag. So I decided it was time to make my own :)

Wittner Cookies Boot in Glitter Gold

After gaining inspiration from http://sarayh.blogspot.com.au on how to do it, I set out and bought my materials

You will need:
  • Boots - mine are a $29.99 pair from Famous Footwear
  • A paintbrush
  • Newspaper
  • Masking tape/sticky tape (whichever you have lying around)
  • Gold glitter dust- $15 from Spotlight (mine was in a gel form so the glitter was already inside it)

The finished product :)

The materials I used (I didn't have any masking tape so sticky tape had to substitute)

My awful job of sticky taping the edges haha

This was the first layer of the glitter dust applied, I ended up painting on six layers to get the desired glitter coverage

Steps -
  • Layout some newspaper to ensure you don't make a mess
  • Tape carefully around the edges of the boot that you don't want to get glittered
  • Start painting on the glitter gel
  • Wait to fully dry then repeat until desired coverage of glitter has been reached
  • Put on your new babies and show them off!

Hope you enjoyed this post! :)

Faux Fur

So let me begin by saying I am terribly sorry for my lack of blogging :( with everything being so fast paced recently, blogging was at the bottom of my priority list.
But now I'm ready to get back into it and I even have a few posts lined up so I will (fingers crossed) be posting more frequently! :)

In the mean time, as promised I'm finally posting the photos of my furry vest!
This was how I styled it the very first time I wore it.
Since then I have worn it numerous times with many different outfits!

I love that it is a neutral-ish colour and can go with pretty much anything

The vest is so soft to touch :) love it!

*Excuse the white socks which weren't intentional for this outfit but I couldn't find any black socks on the day haha

See my vest

With winter on the horizon various styles of faux fur jackets, vests, and collars have popped up everywhere. If I had to pick, my favourite style is the vest, followed closely by collars :)
Here is a quick snap of me trying on a vest in a store

It was so soft and warm, but I felt the leopard print wasn’t really that practical for me to get the most wear out of it.
I’ll do a post on how I styled the actual furry vest that I bought :)
Stay tuned!

Here are some photos taken last month of me and Lyss (dreamt-of-fashion) before going clubbing for our friend Lianna’s birthday. You can check out Lianna’s travel blog here!
